Latest updates from the campaign:
I am proud to be the only San Bruno City Council Candidate to receive endorsements from both of our San Mateo County Supervisors, David Canepa and Dave Pine. With their support, San Bruno has received a $150,000 grant to help upgrade the Tom Lara Baseball Field Grandstands. I look forward to working with our county supervisors in the future.
Additionally, I have received the endorsement of former San Bruno City Council Member, Ken Ibarra. Ken and I did not start on the best of terms however we were able to work through our differences to serve San Bruno.
Two other former neighboring city councilmen have endorsed me: Pradeep Gupta - South San Francisco, and John Keener - Pacifica. I served with them on the Board of Directors of Peninsula Clean Energy.

Door Hangers - Phase 1 Complete!
The first round of doorhangers have been placed across San Bruno with the help of fabulous volunteers. The next door hanging round will be going out in the next few weeks.
Some areas such as Shelter Creek do not allow door hangers to be placed within their private property. A few apartment complexes are also difficult to place door hangers.
If you have not received a door hanger please let me know so I can track any problem areas.

Council Comments 7/23/19
I made the following comment during the end of the council meeting on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019.
"It’s been an interesting few weeks... the Mills Park Project was incredibly difficult item.
This project was unique... not only in size and location, but because state law changed the recusal requirements from 500 to 1000 feet. This resulted in two council members recused from the decision, which according to state law requires a 3-0 vote to approve this project. Furthermore the recusal limited the interaction and discussion between council members. Typically a council person can consult with one other council member.
Looking towards the future... I suggest future TCP development projects have the following requirements:
Increased notifications (I understand staff is working on that).
Provide architecturally scaled project models that exhibit the size in relation to the surrounding area.
Provide a City-maintained project webpage with a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to allow residents updated and reliable project information.
Provide City-recorded community meetings (via YouTube) to allow the public to be better informed.
And last but not least, provide some process to assure a development project decision doesn’t spill into the early morning hours. Perhaps break up the meeting into two parts.
I have received numerous emails and phone calls about the project. The overwhelming majority have been respectful... thank you all for that.
Yesterday two radio spots and a news article reported on the project. Unfortunately they missed a key point, “After hours of public comment and questions, approximately 2 AM, I requested a continuance to allow rested minds to review and discuss solutions to the project’s impact to the community. Unfortunately this offer was refused and ultimately I could not support the project.
In closing, I am an optimist and hope there is a path forward for this project. I can support a project that is more mindful of its impact to our community. I meant what I said two weeks ago, “I want to get to yes.”"
